Hi Nathan, Chris,

As a note, there are GeoTools libraries which should help with the 
reprojection.  Also, if you ever need to serve up GeoMesa data in 
another CRS, GeoServer leverages those GeoTools reprojection 
capabilities to satisfy those requests.
